The idea of this page is to show a live tracking of our route through Kenya, on which everyone interested can attend and interact via twitter.
However this was not possible from everywhere in Kenya and not in any time, beacause of the slow or non existant internet connection.
I used a Holux GPS wireless logger, which stores the geographical coordinates of our actual position. It was then connected via bluetooth with my laptop, which on its part was connected to the internet via an usb stick.
So for best results, i could have needed 6 arms to manage all these devices, beside carrying the Sony FX 1 and shooting the videos. Anyway the service we used for storing and viewing the gps data online was MapMyTracks. There you can look at all of our (short) paths.
After all we have short trackings showing our current position on a map, instead of long walks, which you could attend at the same time. To enjoy the Google Earth View you might need to install the corresponding Plug-in but you can also just click on the “Statelite”-Tab on the map to see all from on high, in a quite similar perspective.

For past visited places see the travel blog entries at the section HOME.
