About
In March-April 2008 drummer/composer Sven Kacirek and Digital Media designer Agnieszka Krzeminska are traveling to Kenya. In cooperation with the Goethe-Institut Nairobi Sven will go up country to record different kenyan singers and other musicians. They will be accompanied by Njane Mugambi, a composer, conductor and researcher from Kenya and by Tabu Osusa who works as a music producer at Nairobi.
Her’s where the journey goes to:

After returning back to Hamburg Sven will start to produce an album that combines the kenyan field- and voice recordings with his own sound. He will describe the work in progres at the Home section. As soon as the album will be finished Sven will travel to Kenya again to work with some of the recorded singers on the live performance of the record.
Agnieszka set up the weblog barabara.fm to document the project on the one hand and to enable dialog and collaboration with the visitors on the other hand. She will aspire to document the project as directly and as tightly as circumstances will permit and also attends the project by recording video footage. Using the film material, a documentary will be produced that will be broadcast by among others an art magazine named Traxx (Arte).
Agnieszka and Sven will twitter daily – you can find their tweets on the right sidebar.
The home section will contain short video snippets and reports that will be updated almost every day. And whenever Sven is doing recordings he will give you a short audio-example about the session.
We appreciate your comments and your thoughts about these videos and mp3s.
The gps-live section enables you to follow Sven, Agnieszka and Tabu virtually. At best you can watch them walking down a street somewhere in the back country of kenya. Beyond that the live section offers a photo tracking overview to give you an impression about the beautyful country.
